Hardness Testing Of Stainless Steel Pipes

For annealed stainless steel pipes with an inner diameter above 6.0mm and wall thickness below 13mm, the W-B75 type Wechsler hardness tester can be used. This tester is fast and simple, making it suitable for quick and non-destructive inspection of stainless steel pipes.

Stainless steel pipes with an inner diameter greater than 30mm and a wall thickness greater than 1.2mm are tested using a Rockwell hardness tester to measure HRB and HRC hardness.

For stainless steel pipes with an inner diameter greater than 30mm and a wall thickness less than 1.2mm, HRT or HRN hardness is tested using a surface Rockwell hardness tester.

When the inner diameter of the stainless steel pipe is less than 4.8mm and greater than 0mm, the Rockwell hardness tester for pipes is used to test HR15T hardness.

Additionally, when the inner diameter of the stainless steel pipe exceeds 26mm, the hardness of the inner wall can also be tested using a Rockwell or surface Rockwell hardness tester.
